Debate interesante: land sparing or land sharing

Maintaining the food supply for a growing population and ensuring the conservation of global biodiversity are important challenges facing humanity, but there is debate over how to best to achieve these two goals simultaneously. Phalan et al. (p. 1289; see the Perspective by Godfray) investigate whether land sparing (designating protected areas separately from intensive farming) or land sharing (allowing biodiversity and agriculture to coexist in the landscape) would be a more efficient approach to conserve biodiversity. The findings regarding birds and trees from Ghana and India indicate that land sparing is a more effective strategy than land sharing for reconciling food production with biodiversity conservation.

Sack lunch safety tips

* Freeze the drinks. Frozen water, milk or juice doubles as an ice pack. Yogurt and soft cheese also can be frozen

* Refrigerate everything ahead of time. Even foods that don't need to be kept cold, it will help keep the inside of the lunch sack cool.

* Use two or three ice packs plus an insulated bag if lunch will be kept at room temperature.

* If your child can store his or her lunch in a refrigerator, forget the cute insulated lunch box and put the food in a paper bag.

* Trying to keep something hot? Before you put hot food in a thermos, pour boiling water into it to preheat it. Also heat the food up to 165 degrees. Then dump the hot water and add the hot food to the thermos. Close it quickly.

* Use nonperishable items in lunches, such as peanut butter sandwiches, whole fruit and vegetables, such as cherry tomatoes, grapes, carrots and apples.

* Urge kids to dump their leftovers rather than carry them home.

* Don't reuse packaging materials, such as paper, plastic bags and aluminum foil. Bacteria can grow on these wrappings and contaminate food.

* Wash lunchboxes, thermoses and reusable food storage containers daily with soap and hot water.

* Minimize the time food spends at room temperature. Prepare lunches the night before and store them in the refrigerator overnight to help keep food cold longer the next day.

Recta Final

Hola compañeros de equipo del Tecnando 3.0 . Os escribo esta entrada para tratar a cerca de cómo nos vamos a repartir las cosas en el proyecto científico, y también qué es lo que vamos a hacer para poder mejorar las misiones y alcanzar una puntuación de 300 mínimo, tengo varias ideas, como hacer en la última misión tres misiones más, así nos acercaríamos a los puntos que queremos obtener.

Venga equipo, podemos ganar este año, está a un paso el País Vasco!

Ideas para presentación proyecto ULTRASONIC

El folleto para presentar nuestro prototipo quedó muy completo. Gracias a Noel por prestarse para posar y a todos los que nos han hecho llegar sus comentarios de ánimo.
